This study aimed to analyze the content of graffiti in Ilam city and examine its relationship with social, economic, and spatial variables.Data from 481 graffiti from four neighborhoods(Razmandegan, Farhangian, etc.)were analyzed using nonparametric statistical tests.The findings showed that economic themes had the highest share with 63.2% (304 items), including plumbing services(34.21%) and hairdressing(14.80%), followed by social (7.28%), political (6.65%), and religious (6.24%) themes. 90.02% of the graffiti was in Persian. Farhangian neighborhood stood out with10.11% of proper names.The chi-square test confirmed a significant relationship between language type and content with a value of 45.32 and a significance level of p.value=0.003, while the Spearman test showed a positive relationship between the width of the passage and the size of the graffiti with a coefficient of 0.28 and a significance level of p.value=0.004.The results indicate that graffiti is not only a reflection of the economic concerns of the community, but also acts as a tool for expressing local identity and social interactions.
