One of the significant topics in cognitive linguistics is conceptual metaphors. In the modern perspective, metaphor is intertwined with thought and is regarded as an active process within the human cognitive system. In this approach, humans think metaphorically. In this research, using a descriptive-analytical method, the culturally grounded Arabic-Persian conceptual metaphors (with an emphasis on proverbs) have been examined, and an attempt has been made to propose a method for translating them based on Harvey's model. The results of the research indicate that Functional equivalence, Descriptive, and Formal equivalence are methods applicable to the translation of culturally grounded metaphors. In the Functional method, if an equivalent for the conceptual metaphor exists in the target language, the conceptual metaphor should be replaced. In the Descriptive method, the conceptual metaphor is unique to the source language and has no equivalent in the target language, the metaphorical meaning is described. In the Formal equivalence metaphor is translated literally into the target language.
