Abstract

the present study was an attempt to employ an innovative design and develop a typology of CF intervention based on PP tenets and principles and then examine its impact on transcendence, foreign language enjoyment and willingness to communicate compared to recast CF and regular instruction. Qualitative meta-analysis blended with mediational inventory development guidelines were utilized for the first phase while a quasi-experimental design was employed for the second phase. It was revealed that PP principles including, Resilience, Engagement, Social Support, Positive Emotion, Self-regulation, Grit, Self-Efficacy, Empathy, Meaning, Gratitude and Autonomy can be built upon for CF mediation in continuum from implicit to explicit CFs respectively. Besides, the results of ANOVA revealed that the developed typology promotes transcendence of language learners significantly, (F (2, 29) = 11.443, p = 0.000. Also, results of Kruskal-Wallis showed that the typology promoted FLE (χ2 (2) = 21.239, p = 0.000) and WTC (χ2 (2) = 23.265, p = 0.001) in a significant manner.
