Abstract

In Riffater's structuralist and reader-centered theory, there are two levels for reading poetry. In the heuristic confrontation, the reader reads the text with a linear approach from beginning to end, but in order to understand and interpret the text, the reader must pass through the heuristic level, and in the retroactive confrontation, the text is read with a nonlinear approach from end to beginning to find the hidden implications of the text. In retroactive reading, poetic signs, instead of referring to an external reality, imply a single and central idea, and by discovering the aforementioned implication, the poem acquires unity and formal and semantic coherence. The matrix or core of Tavallali's "Penhan-Souz" meaning is "the return of the repressed." The attacks of the unconscious have emerged in various stanzas of the poem in the form of hypograms that consist of multiple psychological mechanisms. These hypograms can be reconstructed through two processes: "accumulation" and "descriptive system."
