Abstract

Persian, as one of the less commonly taught languages faces a shortage of standardized, structured, and assessed digital content. The present study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the content of a web application designed for teaching Persian to non-native learners at the B2 level . The theoretical foundation of the research includes the Persian Reference Framework and Mayer's Multimedia Learning Principles. Research method is quantitative. In the content design phase, library resources and the Grammar, Vocabulary and Function Modules of the Persian Reference Framework were utilized. To assess educational effectiveness, pretest-posttest was employed. The assessment tools consisted of equivalent tests with confirmed content validity and acceptable reliability. The results indicated that after completing the instructional course via the web application, the learners' scores in the total score and most sub-skills increased significantly. The findings suggest that designing digital content based on the PRF and multimedia principles can play an effective role in enhancing the quality of Persian language education.
