Abstract

Famous and successful writers are evaluated based on the extent of their originality and innovation.Daneshvar is one of iran's renowned and successful writers; therefore, it is essential to examine the issue of innovation in her three novels -Sauvashun, Wandering Island and Wandering Cameleer- in terms of characterization, narrator, and point of view, in order to clarify the reasons for her fame and influence in iranian fiction. The author, through use of various forms of monologue in all three works –including direct and indirect interior monologue and external monologue- strives to enhance the clarity of the plots. Since the representation of the theme in Sauvashun is achieved through the thoughts and emotional and spiritual concerns if the focal character(Zari)–along with her loneliness and love for her husband and children- the use of a first-person narrator could have more directly connected the reader's emotions to the protagonist's inner world and created a stronger harmony between the theme and the narrative technique.
