Abstract

This article examines the acoustic characteristics of sound wave during emotional speech response. The subjects are64students of Qazvin Azad University in field of counseling and guidance, who were selected through purposive sampling. To measure emotional speech, reflection test Pratt software was used to evaluate acoustic properties of sound wave. The research plan was prepared as a pre-test and post-test with a control group. First, normal questions and questions that required more thought were asked from subjects of experimental group and control group, and then emotional reflection test questions were asked from experimental group, and their spoken answers were stored in the Pratt software. The results showed emotional arousal in the speech. It causes that the time interval of the sound wave in vowels and words is reduced and the ratio of harmonic to noise in the sound wave is reduced and the average disturbance in the frequency and amplitude of the sound wave in vowels and phrases is increased.
